And it was at that age … Poetry arrived<\/span><\/p>\n

in search of me. I don't know, I don't know where<\/span><\/p>\n

it came from, from winter or a river.<\/span><\/p>\n

I don't know how or when,<\/span><\/p>\n

no they were not voices, they were not<\/span><\/p>\n

words, nor silence,<\/span><\/p>\n

but from a street I was summoned,<\/span><\/p>\n

from the branches of night,<\/span><\/p>\n

abruptly from the others,<\/span><\/p>\n

among violent fires<\/span><\/p>\n

or returning alone,<\/span><\/p>\n

there I was without a face<\/span><\/p>\n

and it touched me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I did not know what to say, my mouth<\/span><\/p>\n

had no way<\/span><\/p>\n

with names,<\/span><\/p>\n

my eyes were blind,<\/span><\/p>\n

and something started in my soul,<\/span><\/p>\n

fever or forgotten wings,<\/span><\/p>\n

and I made my own way,<\/span><\/p>\n

deciphering<\/span><\/p>\n

that fire,<\/span><\/p>\n

and I wrote the first faint line,<\/span><\/p>\n

faint, without substance, pure<\/span><\/p>\n

nonsense,<\/span><\/p>\n

pure wisdom<\/span><\/p>\n

of someone who knows nothing,<\/span><\/p>\n

and suddenly I saw<\/span><\/p>\n

the heavens<\/span><\/p>\n

unfastened<\/span><\/p>\n

and open,<\/span><\/p>\n

planets,<\/span><\/p>\n

palpitating plantations,<\/span><\/p>\n

shadow perforated,<\/span><\/p>\n

riddled<\/span><\/p>\n

with arrows, fire and flowers,<\/span><\/p>\n

the winding night, the universe.<\/span><\/p>\n

And I, infinitesimal being,<\/span><\/p>\n

drunk with the great starry<\/span><\/p>\n

void,<\/span><\/p>\n

likeness, image of<\/span><\/p>\n

mystery,<\/span><\/p>\n

felt myself a pure part<\/span><\/p>\n

of the abyss,<\/span><\/p>\n

I wheeled with the stars,<\/span><\/p>\n
